Reform Party presidential hopeful Pat Buchanan won the party's mail-in primary on Friday, trumping opponent John Hagelin at dueling conventions vying to name a presidential nominee. 4 Inland Latinos among delegates

If Latinos are considered the "sleeping giant" of the 2000 election, four Democratic delegates from the Coachella Valley are part of the wake-up call. These sons and daughters of farm workers rebelled against hand-me-down school supplies in the barrios of East Los Angeles in the 1960s, joined unions to fight for worker rights, rallied behind Democratic candidates and organized get-out-the-vote efforts in the Coachella Valley. And as the nation looks to the Latino community as November's swing vote, Edward Araiza, Amalia DeAztlan, Maria "Lupe" Crespo and Sabino "Sal" Alejos will be among those in the spotlight at the DNC in L.A. next week.
