McCain Attacks Bachmann
Another act of disloyalty?
Think Progress -- July 18
McCain Slams Bachmann For 'Unwarranted And Unfounded Attack' On Clinton Aide
On the floor of the Senate Wednesday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) repudiated Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-MN) McCarthyesque witch-hunt to root out the alleged Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the U.S. government.

Rep. Bachmann doubles down, alleges Rep. Ellison has ties to Muslim Brotherhood as well
When Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) sent her letter regarding Huma Abedin to U.S. intelligence and security agencies, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) was not the only one to recoil: Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim ever to be elected to the U.S. Congress, lashed out as well.
Part of a group of Democrats calling Bachmann's concerns a "baseless witch-hunt," Ellison actually said Bachmann should apologize to Abedin. (But as I've highlighted in a different post, to brush off Bachmann's concerns this easily would be to overlook at least three alleged ties between Abedin's family and the Muslim Brotherhood.)
Instead of apologizing, Bachmann is doubling down, and has added Ellison's name to the list of U.S. officials whom she believes should be investigated for ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Ellison has responded by saying Bachmann's allegations are false, and that he believes she just wants attention.

No construction yet in Arizona border fence project
Not a single fence post has been erected in the year since Arizona launched its own effort to build a border fence through private contributions. -- The Arizona Capitol Times reports that fundraising for the project has almost completely dried up and that the $273,000 that has been raised so far is probably not enough to erect one mile of fencing...

What mindset leads to communism?
My thousandth column was published sometime this year, not sure exactly when. At about 800 words each, it hasn't amounted to a million yet; that'll take another four years if I keep it up. It all started with letters to the editor when I felt strongly about something. Then I published a few opinion pieces in a Catholic weekly newspaper, then a few in a big daily which was first to pay me...

Job Creators to Lawmakers: Obama red tape a job killer

Obama could nullify the 2nd Amendment
When Barack Obama signs the United Nation's Arms Trade Treaty late this month, the force of his signature alone could suffice to nullify the 2nd Amendment rights of the American people. How is this possible if a 2/3rds vote by the Senate --- that is, constitutionally mandated ratification --- is required before the United States may become a legal party to any treaty?

TSA lax on illegal aliens as pilots-in-training
When it comes to soldiers, breast-feeding moms, toddlers and grannies, the Transportation Security Administration is not just hands-on, it's hands-all-over. But when it comes to illegal alien pilot trainees, our homeland security bureaucracy's policy is still stuck in pre-9/11 mode: Hands off, blinders on. -- This week, the U.S. Government Accountability Office released a report on the airline security agency's...

Outing the Muslim Brotherhood
