| Is this a hate group? See for yourself -- click here |
On August 12, 2009, KTAR TV in Phoenix ran a major story that involved American Border Patrol. At the request of Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, The Southern Poverty Law Center had sent a representative to Phoenix to urge Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio to distance himself from groups such as American Border Patrol which the SPLC listed as a hate group. "These are not people who anybody who is in public life should be spending time with," SPLC's Heidi Beirich told KTAR TV.
American Border Patrol was incorporated as a 501 c (3) charitable organization in June of 2002. Today it is good standing with the IRS and every state in the union.
In commemoration of ten years on the border, ABP has prepared a PowerPoint summary of its work that is now available in video format. (Click here to watch)
Please take the time to watch this video and then take the following poll.
I have watched the ABP Ten Years of Progress video and find that it is a hate group that has done nothing to help solve the border problem. --- Or ---
I have watched the ABP Ten Years of Progress video and find that ABP is an outstanding organization that has applied science and technology to help solve the border problem. The SPLC should be ashamed of itself.
