Anti-Fence Propaganda Blitz
Taking Aim at the Truth
American Patrol Report Commentary-- October 3
Yesterday, Reuters published a story, "A costly U.S.-Mexico border wall, in both dollars and deaths." It included the following:
"While border agents say the wall is a tool that helps them protect the United States, the GAO report found that U.S. Customs and Border Protection cannot accurately determine the fence's impact on improving border security, suggesting the money might not be well spent."
In fact, just the opposite is true. CBP makes no attempt to determine the fence's impact on improving border security because it knows the fence is worth the investment, but, for political reasons, it doesn't want to build more of it.
Where the fence has been built data show that it cuts illegal immigration significantly. Moreover, new fencing and barriers severely restricted the flow of drugs and that is what set off the war between cartels in Mexico. If we finished the job we would finish the cartels.
Congress is now debating the DeMint amendment. It would finish the fence.
One organization, American Border Patrol, has more data on the border fence than any one else. That is why the media blacks them out. They work hand-in-glove with liberals in CBP to defeat our border defenses. |
