The Ugly Truth
For Americans: Death Panels For Illegal Aliens: Free Health Care
O'Reilly Factor with Laura -- Fox News -- August 14
Dick Morris: The fundamental problem with this bill, and it exists with any compromise, is that you are trying to treat too many people with too few doctors. The result is a cut in the reimbursement rate for doctors, fewer doctors, less medical care. And what it essentially is, is a transfer of medical care for the elderly under Medicare, to immigrants who are uncovered under the health insurance program that Obama is proposing. And I don't begrudge the immigrant for care, but I absolutely do not believe that the 12 percent of the population that is elderly should absorb 40 percent of the health care cuts. And when I worked for that guy, Bill Clinton, we opposed those Medicare cuts.
Laura Ingraham: I think you have hit on something here, which is the common sense angle here. People just don't believe you can expand coverage to this extent, and as President Obama said today, we're going to make the whole system more efficient, cut costs, and yet somehow not to have to ration care.
Morris: ...I have a whole chapter in my book, Catastrophe, where I list, what Obama says and what he really means.
