Final Report
63 Miles of New Fencing - Not 150
 |
| Less than 63 miles
of new fencing - only two miles double layered (See
larger map) |
|
American Patrol
According
to data provided by American Border Patrol, Secretary Chertoff
has completed less than 63 miles of new pedestrian fence along
the southern Mexico border. More than half of the new fencing
is along the Goldwater Bombing Range in Arizona where pedestrian
traffic is very unlikely.
Last July Chertoff
said he would have 150 miles of fencing this year. We said
he was either
lying or misleading the American people. It was the latter.
What about Spencer's
prediction that only 20
miles of new fencing would be completed? See
here. |

Tell
Governor Schwarzenegger to veto SB 1!
The ever-increasing cost of higher education
is squeezing California's middle class families, yet the state
legislature has voted to give scarce financial aid dollars to
illegal alien students. SB 1 by state Senator Gil Cedillo would
take us a step further in blurring the lines between those who
are here legally and those who broke our immigration laws... |

A
link between immigration, gang crime?
When members of a rival gang killed a
14-year-old Latino boy in the passenger seat of a car on a Goshen
street, the people of the small, industrial city seemed to have
had enough. -- The shooting, late on a Saturday night in February
2006, was apparently in retaliation for a similar attack in April
2005 that took the life of a 16-year-old Latino boy. |

The
galling arrogance of Mexico
An anti-defamation league for Mexican
migrants to the United States? That's what the Mexican government
is considering, taking a cue from American Jews in its latest
effort to protect and defend the presence of its own citizens
here illegally. -- In doing so, Mexican officials have appropriated
another concept from Jewish culture: chutzpah. [Also see: Meddling Mexicans] |

Ron Paul endorsement premature?
Thanks to a call from S.
J. Miller, it may be that I endorsed Ron Paul's candidacy
prematurely. His immigration positions on his Web
site are strong, but we may need to do more to clarify them.
He is right on many other issues, however, and we need someone
with a strong science background in the White House. More later. |
