Next Homeland Security Chairman Supports Invasion

Bennie Thompson |

Lou Dobbs Tonight -- CNN -- November 17
Romans:
Congressman Bennie Thompson sent a letter to the Cintas CEO warning
him against potential discrimination. Now, it is illegal to knowingly
employ illegal aliens, and there is nothing more color blind,
Lou, than a Social Security number. When that match comes back
negative there is no color involved.
Dobbs: And there is -- well, there are maddening, frustrating
issues facing this country, but nothing really tops illegal immigration
in this country. Bennie Thompson, who stands to chair the House
Homeland Security Committee, having the effrontery to send that
letter is absolutely idiotic.
Romans: Cintas says that letter came right out of the
blue. No phone call saying, what's going on there, what are you
doing, give me some background on this. He said it was a letter
that fired off a warning right away.

Getting
what we deserve
I don't know that there was anybody who
knew much of anything about politics who didn't expect Republicans
to get spanked on November 7. But as much as I expected the backlash
generated by unpopular policies and broken promises, even I was
taken aback at the extent of that backlash. The Democrats now
control both the House and the Senate... |

Schools
challenged by invader onslaught
Clayton County, which saw a swift change
from nearly all-white to overwhelmingly black schools, is now
facing a new shift - growing numbers of Hispanic students. --
From 2000 to 2005, the number of Hispanics in Clayton rose by
roughly 10,600 people, marking a 60 percent increase in the Hispanic
population countywide. |

Danes'
"anti-immigrant" backlash marks radical shift
An anti-immigrant backlash, bordering
on xenophobia, is sweeping across Europe. Sentiments once associated
with ultra right-wing parties are becoming mainstream. Many taboos
are being broken -- nowhere more starkly than in Denmark -- the
erstwhile poster child of the welcoming and nurturing welfare
state. |

Blagojevich
giving away the ranch
Four months into the governor's effort
to offer health care to all Illinois children, the state's All
Kids insurance program is outpacing enrollment targets. -- While
Gov. Rod Blagojevich aimed to make health insurance available
and affordable to Illinois' middle class, however, most of the
new enrollees are lower income immigrants. |

Don't
raise the minimum wage... just get rid of the invaders
So, what was the midterm election all
about anyway? Other than voters being profoundly sick of George
W. Bush and the Republican Party? And Iraq? -- One consistent
theme was voter backlash against the high cost of cheap labor.
-- Many of the new winners were what Jacob Weisberg in Slate

Well
past time to raid the church
Remember all the outcry over the House
Immigration bill (legislation which is now all but dead)? Critics
shrieked all over the place about criminalizing those who help
illegal aliens. We were told that innocent members of the clergy
could go to jail for giving a sip of water to an illegal alien
fresh from the parching desert... |

Immigrants
are draining U.S. social programs
America is not a bottomless pit of social
programs designed to be drained by illegal immigrants. -- At
the close of the 19th century, migration to this country was
at its peak. Those arriving from many cultures around the world
brought with them a dream of American brotherhood to contribute

Whoopee!
No amnesty for illegal aliens! But -- in Canada
It seems that the government of Canada
decided - in October - against granting amnesty to its 200,000
illegal aliens [we note that there was a time when we only had
200,000 illegals - in Georgia]. -- In a no brainer, the Canadian
leaders reasoning is that offering amnesty would "would
encourage illegal immigration..." |

Identity
theft is a serious immigration issue
Illegal immigration is not about Hispanics,
it is about the law. When I was an INS special agent I often
investigated and arrested illegal aliens from a wide variety
of countries that were not located in Latin America. So to portray
immigration law enforcement as purely an Hispanic issue denies
the reality of the immigration situation in America. |

Voters
did not endorse amnesty
The idea is spreading that this month's
Republican electoral defeat somehow represented voter rejection
of the enforcement-first approach to immigration championed by
the House Republican leadership, and meant, instead, voter endorsement
of the Bush- McCain- Kennedy approach that would amnesty (or
"legalize") the illegal aliens... |
