DHS Takes Credit for Normal Fluctuation in Apprehensions

Houston Chronicle -- October 30
Official:
Border arrests dropping
But it doesn't mean fewer are crossing
illegally, some experts say
Washington -- The number of illegal
immigrants caught entering the United States fell by 8 percent
this year, a senior federal official said Sunday, citing the
decline as evidence that enhanced border security is deterring
the number of immigrants trying to enter the country.
[...]
"Across the board, we are seeing enforcement numbers that
are at or near record levels," said the senior official,
who works with Chertoff at DHS. Nonsense: ABP
reports little
evidence of the National Guard on the border and continued
high levels of border crossers. |
