The number of U.S. Border Patrol agents
in the El Paso region will increase about 20 percent this year
as the agency adjusts to deal with more migrant activity, officials
said Friday. -- The agency's El Paso sector will reach a record
high of about 1,300 Border Patrol agents with the addition of
224 new agents expected to start arriving in mid-July, agency
spokesman Doug Mosier said. |
