Army Now Engaged
in Border War
Hunter
UAV Pressed Into Service
|
|
It's
About Time
Two and a
half years after the founders of American
Border Patrol recommended their use, the U.S. Army has begun
using its own unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to patrol the border.
According to a report in today's Sierra Vista Herald, the Hunter
UAV has been pressed into service, flying out of Ft. Huachuca,
the Army's UAV training center.
"It's about time our government
began using its real capabilities to solve this problem,"
said Glenn Spencer of American Border Patrol. ABP was first to
use UAVs on the border with the Border
Hawk system.
Border Patrol spokesman Andy Adame said
"UAVs play an important role." |

I have never read any of Matt C. Abbott's

"Undocumented immigrants should be given legal status".
-- Mr. Abbott was very careful to footnote the sources of information
from which he has derived his position on the crisis of
our nation suffering the entrance of 10,000 illegal aliens... |

Illegal
immigration may be future hot-button issue for Dreier
Tucked into last week's otherwise predictable
California election results lay a cautionary tale about the election
year's most uncovered issue: illegal immigration. -- Republican
Rep. David Dreier, who chairs the powerful House Rules committee,
won re-election to his House seat with just under 54 percent
of the vote, down from 64 percent in 2002. |

Will

By any reasonable standard the Republican

got it right about immigration
By almost all standards, Republican Bill
Jones ran an absolutely abysmal, hopeless campaign for the U.S.

the rug from under his own effort by reneging on a promise to

A
California Girl's Thoughts On Prop 200
The victory of Proposition 200, the most
important victory for immigration reform (and I mean reform)
since California's Proposition 187, got me thinking: (1) I used
to believe the phrase "politics makes strange bedfellows"
was just a euphemism for either "a traitor has joined the
other side" or "a hypocrite has joined our side." |
