Who's
in charge at border on holidays?
With all the talk about Homeland Security
and heightened vigilance, it seems that once the holidays roll
around, the only priority is a vacation. -- Last Friday, no federal
officials could be found who could provide any information about
a drug smuggling tunnel unearthed at the U.S. Mexico border,
just east of the DeConcini Port of Entry. -- Vacation was the
order of the day, and anyone who could speak on the record was
off. -- Their substitutes either had no authority or had no way
to get the needed details. |

A 57-year old man was sentenced to six
years in prison this afternoon for his involvement in a drug
ring which ended in him getting caught with over eighty pounds
of marijuana. Jose Pedrego-Lugo, an illegal alien, had previously
pleaded guilty to two felony charges: possession of marijuana
with intent to distribute and money laundering. DEA agents conducted
surveillance of Pedrego-Lugo's home when they saw three men removing
packages from a vehicle. Those packages ended up being marijuana. |

Illegal
Alien Scandal - At White House!
If you thought the New Year's Eve FBI
manhunt for illegal aliens with fake passports was a disturbing
sign of homeland insecurity, wait until you hear about who's
been working on President George W. Bush's front lawn. -- While
the Secret Service has now instituted criminal and citizenship
screening procedures for all tourists (including children) who
visit the White House, federal agents failed to detect an illegal
alien who used a false identity and fraudulent documents and
was employed for at least two years as a supervisor of tent installation
for White House social events. [See Michelle this month

Two
previously deported Mexican illegals held for murder
A simple disagreement over a coffee table
turned to murder on Detroit's southwest side. One man was stabbed
to death and two people are behind bars accused of killing him.
-- Detroit detectives have investigated a lot of senseless killings,
but this murder is pretty unbelievable. Authorities say two brothers
murdered a friend after a fight over a piece of furniture. ---
"The two suspects were illegal aliens in this country, and
they had previously been arrested in Laredo, Texas, in 1998 and
had been deported to Mexico. Apparently, they reentered the country
once again," said Craig Schwartz, Detroit Police. [They
just sneak in to do jobs Americans won't do.] |

Diary -- The last of 2002
...From a correlation-of-forces point
of view, for South Korea to worry about an invasion from the
North is a bit like the U.S.A. worrying about an invasion from
Mexico. Ah, there's the rub, of course. North Korea is poor and
ill-governed; the South is wealthy and well-governed - just like
Mexico and the U.S.! If the Kim Jong-Il regime collapses and
the border opens up, poor Northerners will be flooding into the
South. That's the invasion the South Koreans really have nightmares
about.... |

is said to be close to the Bush Administration, an administration
