Information On Bellingham Connection To Sniper Suspects
Bellingham Police Friday released investigative
reports into the activities of accused snipers John Muhammad
and Lee
Malvo. -- The documents spell out the reasons Muhammad referred
to Malvo as his son. That ruse was apparently necessary for Malvo,
an illegal alien from Jamaica, to enter Bellingham High school.
-- That's just one of a series of warning signs and information
tidbits that sound ominous now, but were unprovable then. ---
Some deal with the Bushmaster rifle and Muhammad's interest in
guns. |

The chairman of the House Committee on

for discriminating against Filipino migrant workers. -- American
authorities had arrested Mexican, Nicaraguan and Filipino migrant workers.
The others were released but the Filipinos continue to languish
in jail without charges. -- Lakas Rep. Jose Apolinario Lozada
Jr. of Negros Occidental warned that Filipinos in the US could
end up persecuted by the Americans because of a new policy to
hit Asian immigrants hard. |

Mexico: Disloyal Bush?
...Bush is a president made legitimate
and therefore strengthened. But what does that mean for Mexico?
Is Mexican
President Vicente Fox still among those who can call Bush
Dubbya? -- The question is considered important in Mexico because
the country is weighing up yet again its relations with the rest
of the world and, most of all, those with the colossus to the
north. -- In his first year in office Fox's biggest triumph --
and perhaps his only one because it is hard indeed to achieve
much in Mexico -- was scored north of the border.... |

Haitian
illegals will be detained
The Bush administration announced Friday
that Haitians and others who attempt to enter the U.S. illegally
by sea will be detained and subject to an expedited process to
send them back home. -- An INS statement says that even the perception
that rules are being relaxed could spur a mass migration that
threatens U.S. national security. -- "Any message that may
encourage a mass migration and detract federal resources from
our homeland defense is unacceptable,'' the INS statement says.
-- Although Justice Department officials said the move was made
under existing authority, immigration activists said it marked
a change in that most Haitians no longer will be able to go free
on bond while awaiting the outcome of their asylum cases. |

Republicans
in Charge - Now What?
Now that the Republican Party has obtained
control of both houses of Congress, they find themselves in control
of the entire federal government. Therefore, they can no longer

their agenda. Voters have given Republicans carte blanche to
run the country. So, what can we expect from these omnipotent
Republicans during the next two years? --- Expect more NAFTA-style
trade agreements and additional accommodations for illegal aliens. |

Voters Unmoved By Pandering on Immigration
As the dust settles after this week s
mid-term elections, a consensus has developed that there was
no bigger loser than House Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt of
Missouri. In what had to be the worst campaign strategy since
Walter Mondale proclaimed that he would raise people s taxes
if he was elected president, Gephardt declared that, should he
become Speaker of the House, there would be a massive amnesty
for many millions of illegal aliens. |

fix to close agency
The corruption-plagued state Division
of Motor Vehicles would be abolished and replaced with an independent
commission as part of $200 million in customer service and security
reforms proposed yesterday by the governor. -- The cost of a

to help fund the changes. -- Gov. James E. McGreevey unveiled
the reform proposals, describing them as vital to eliminating
dismal customer service and rampant fraud at the state's motor
vehicle agencies. |

Diversity
vs. Freedom (contd): The Barton And Alberti Cases
What does immigration cost us? At a recent
debate in Arlington, Virginia, Harvard Professor George Borjas
put quoted an estimate of $70 billion a year. He noted, however,
that the cost is not evenly distributed. Some communities are
heavily impacted with swollen welfare budgets and hospitals on
the brink of bankruptcy. Immigration is estimated to cost Californians
$1,300 per household annually in additional taxes. |

Hispanic
victors rise to challenge
Latinos secured three new seats in the
Arizona Legislature, but their modest gain is still far from
reflecting Arizona's burgeoning Hispanic population. -- Many
Hispanic leaders hailed the successful election this week of
15 Latinos, the largest legislative delegation ever in a state
where minorities are rapidly changing the face of Arizona. --
Putting the euphoria aside, the same leaders recognized that
the Latino legislators won't have enough clout to successfully
push legislation on matters important for immigrants,
such as a new law to allow them to get driver's licenses and
provide greater access to health care [legal immigrants can already
get driver's licenses in Arizona]. |

Mexican
illegal in fatal wreck pleads to reduced charge
A man initially charged with killing

plea of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, according to prosecutors.
-- Faustino Hernandez Rojas, an illegal immigrant from Mexico,
was involved in a car accident in Houston's East End on Sept.

Johnny. -- Evidence presented to a grand jury indicated both
Hernandez Rojas and Ortiz were driving drunk, and that Ortiz
may have been at fault for the accident, not Hernandez Rojas,
said prosecutor Jeff Laird. |
