O'REILLY: Do you really?
LOTT: Oh, absolutely.
O'REILLY: You're the first politician I have heard.....

More Information On Bellingham Connection To Sniper Suspects
Bellingham Police Friday released investigative reports into the activities of accused snipers John Muhammad and Lee Malvo. -- The documents spell out the reasons Muhammad referred to Malvo as his son. That ruse was apparently necessary for Malvo, an illegal alien from Jamaica, to enter Bellingham High school. -- That's just one of a series of warning signs and information tidbits that sound ominous now, but were unprovable then. --- Some deal with the Bushmaster rifle and Muhammad's interest in guns.

...Glenn Spencer does not like Isabel Garcia.. He told us "this woman is lying, dissembling the truth, misrepresenting the facts of the law, attacking individuals without foundation and all for the purpose of defeating any attempt to resist the Mexican invasion of the United States." -- Spencer, by the way, wants Garcia fired from her job as a public defender in Pima County and has asked county officials to do that.

U.S. hit for picking on Pinoys
The chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Relations assailed the United States government Friday for discriminating against Filipino migrant workers. -- American authorities had arrested Mexican, Nicaraguan and Filipino migrant workers. The others were released but the Filipinos continue to languish in jail without charges. -- Lakas Rep. Jose Apolinario Lozada Jr. of Negros Occidental warned that Filipinos in the US could end up persecuted by the Americans because of a new policy to hit Asian immigrants hard.

Inside Mexico: Disloyal Bush?
...Bush is a president made legitimate and therefore strengthened. But what does that mean for Mexico? Is Mexican President Vicente Fox still among those who can call Bush Dubbya? -- The question is considered important in Mexico because the country is weighing up yet again its relations with the rest of the world and, most of all, those with the colossus to the north. -- In his first year in office Fox's biggest triumph -- and perhaps his only one because it is hard indeed to achieve much in Mexico -- was scored north of the border....

Haitian illegals will be detained
The Bush administration announced Friday that Haitians and others who attempt to enter the U.S. illegally by sea will be detained and subject to an expedited process to send them back home. -- An INS statement says that even the perception that rules are being relaxed could spur a mass migration that threatens U.S. national security. -- "Any message that may encourage a mass migration and detract federal resources from our homeland defense is unacceptable,'' the INS statement says. -- Although Justice Department officials said the move was made under existing authority, immigration activists said it marked a change in that most Haitians no longer will be able to go free on bond while awaiting the outcome of their asylum cases.

Republicans in Charge - Now What?
Now that the Republican Party has obtained control of both houses of Congress, they find themselves in control of the entire federal government. Therefore, they can no longer blame obstructionist Democrats for any failure to accomplish their agenda. Voters have given Republicans carte blanche to run the country. So, what can we expect from these omnipotent Republicans during the next two years? --- Expect more NAFTA-style trade agreements and additional accommodations for illegal aliens.

What do Dan Lungren, Tom Campbell, Matt Fong and Bill Simon have in common? -- If you answered that all four were California Republican challengers for governor or U.S. Senator, you are partially correct. -- If you added that Democrats Gray Davis, Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer diced them into mincemeat, your response is better but still incomplete....

Hispanic Voters Unmoved By Pandering on Immigration
As the dust settles after this week s mid-term elections, a consensus has developed that there was no bigger loser than House Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt of Missouri. In what had to be the worst campaign strategy since Walter Mondale proclaimed that he would raise people s taxes if he was elected president, Gephardt declared that, should he become Speaker of the House, there would be a massive amnesty for many millions of illegal aliens.

REPORT: Armed Civilian Groups Patrol Border
...An agenda promoted by people like Glenn Spencer, executive director of another citizens group called the American Patrol. He was in Tucson recently giving speeches and recruiting members. He says people like him and Ranch Rescue are being unfairly targeted. America, he says, doesn't understand the threat. -- "I believe, and I think I have proven in a documentary that I have done called "Conquest of Aztlan", that Mexico is in fact, sponsoring the invasion of the United States with hostile intent," he says.

DMV fix to close agency
The corruption-plagued state Division of Motor Vehicles would be abolished and replaced with an independent commission as part of $200 million in customer service and security reforms proposed yesterday by the governor. -- The cost of a driver's license and motor vehicle registration would be increased to help fund the changes. -- Gov. James E. McGreevey unveiled the reform proposals, describing them as vital to eliminating dismal customer service and rampant fraud at the state's motor vehicle agencies.

What does immigration cost us? At a recent debate in Arlington, Virginia, Harvard Professor George Borjas put quoted an estimate of $70 billion a year. He noted, however, that the cost is not evenly distributed. Some communities are heavily impacted with swollen welfare budgets and hospitals on the brink of bankruptcy. Immigration is estimated to cost Californians $1,300 per household annually in additional taxes.

Hispanic victors rise to challenge
Latinos secured three new seats in the Arizona Legislature, but their modest gain is still far from reflecting Arizona's burgeoning Hispanic population. -- Many Hispanic leaders hailed the successful election this week of 15 Latinos, the largest legislative delegation ever in a state where minorities are rapidly changing the face of Arizona. -- Putting the euphoria aside, the same leaders recognized that the Latino legislators won't have enough clout to successfully push legislation on matters important for immigrants, such as a new law to allow them to get driver's licenses and provide greater access to health care [legal immigrants can already get driver's licenses in Arizona].

Court orders could trump bilingual vote
Holyoke, MA -- The voter-approved referendum to overhaul bilingual education in Massachusetts may not change programs in some cities. -- Federal court orders already determine how bilingual students will be taught in Holyoke, Lowell and Worcester, and perhaps other Massachusetts communities, said attorney Alan Rom, who represented Hispanic and other immigrant parents in desegregation suits against the three cities. -- "It depends on how the individual decrees are written," Rom said Thursday...

At colleges and universities across the country, the Movimiento Estudiantil de Chicanos de Aztlan (The Student Movement of Aztlan Chicanos) - better known by its acronym, MEChA - is calling for the surrender of wide swaths of American territory to Mexico.

Mexican senate complains to U.N. over illegals
Lawmakers on Thursday presented a formal complaint to the United Nations against the U.S. for systematically violating the rights of Mexican migrants. -- At a meeting with the local representative of the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Thierry del Prado, senators accused the U.S. of arbitrarily detaining migrants, government news agency Notimex reported. -- "We know there were arbitrary detentions because (suspects) were denied the right to have access to legal counsel," said Sen. Sadot Sanchez.

Migrant sues Texas Dept. of Public Safety
All Juan Pozo wanted was a valid Texas driver's license after moving here from California last year. -- Instead, the legal immigrant from Honduras got months of grief from the Texas Department of Public Safety, causing him to temporarily lose his job, miss the birth of his second child and lose a truck that he was buying on payments, according to a lawsuit filed on his behalf Thursday. -- The lawsuit, filed in Austin, claims that the DPS unlawfully confiscated Pozo's work permit for more than three months after alleging that it was false.

Mexicans, other illegals busted sneaking in from Canada
It was a fluke that two groups of illegal immigrants were caught within days in the Southern Tier, according to a border patrol official. -- On Tuesday, 13 undocumented Mexican citizens were discovered in a van on Interstate 390 near Avoca and detained. On Sunday, three men from India were arrested in Painted Post after hiding in a tractor-trailer and illegally crossing the Canadian border into the United States. -- "It could be that there's more of this going on and we just happened to get lucky and catch these two particular ones right now," a Border Patrol spokesman said.

Identity theft continues increase
Most people don't think twice about keeping their social security card and birth certificate with them wherever they go. -- But Ana Lopez, public affairs specialist for the Social Security Administration, said the habit can make it extremely easy for a thief to assume your identity. --- Lopez said that because of the Valley's close proximity to Mexico, the chances of a Valley resident becoming a victim significantly increases. Undocumented immigrants sometimes use fraudulent identification when applying for a job.

Mexican illegal in fatal wreck pleads to reduced charge
A man initially charged with killing a father and two of his children in a car wreck accepted a reduced plea of misdemeanor driving while intoxicated, according to prosecutors. -- Faustino Hernandez Rojas, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, was involved in a car accident in Houston's East End on Sept. 15 that killed Juan Ortiz and two of his children, Jennifer and Johnny. -- Evidence presented to a grand jury indicated both Hernandez Rojas and Ortiz were driving drunk, and that Ortiz may have been at fault for the accident, not Hernandez Rojas, said prosecutor Jeff Laird.
