American Border Patrol
UPDATE
NetScope   Do you want to avoid time consuming, unattractive and expensive cable runs?
Is there a location that seems too distant, inconvenient or impossible to monitor?
netSCOPE's wireless system makes difficult camera placements a snap.
Cameras may be placed up to 7 miles from your computer's Internet connection.
Install a camera at the end of a fishing pier or atop a tower [Or along the border]. You may not see the camera but you will see the crystal clear images it's sending to your monitor.
No electric power available? A battery operated system will keep your system running for days without recharging.
American Border Patrol System Design Progressing
American Border Patrol will go online in Southern Arizona on September 1.
We are working hard to bring modern technology to bear to inform the American people about problems on our border.
Our plans call for the use of Web cams to show live video of border crossers.
Is this feasible? Yes. At left, one supplier, netSCOPE, shows just how advanced the technology is.

2 new co-sponsors of H.R. 5013 (Gekas reduction bill)
Always good to get another Northeastern Republican in the mix (with Peterson). And Riley is the first Member from Alabama to step forward. Both of them arrived in 1997, so weren't here for the multiple votes and actions in 1996. But they have been reliable in fighting illegal immigration....

INS rapped in handling of illegal children
They are the children of the border, taking long journeys with short strides to an uncertain future. -- Each year thousands of children under 18 try to sneak into the United States. While many make it, many are caught and turned over to the Immigration and Naturalization Service as "unaccompanied minors." In San Diego alone, the INS processed 390 children last year. This year, the pace has quickened, with 234 arrested through July 31. -- As the numbers rise, the INS is increasingly under fire for the way it handles the children.

False ID numbers costing illegals jobs
Thousands of illegal immigrants who have been working for years with false Social Security numbers are finding themselves out of work in the wake of a crackdown by the Social Security Administration. -- These letters are pushing illegal workers further underground, said Mariena Hincapie, a lawyer with the National Immigration Law Center in Oakland. -- But Rep. Dana Rohrbacher, a staunch opponent of illegal immigration, applauds Social Security's effort and hopes it has the side benefit of routing out illegal workers. -- "It's about time we have a crackdown on illegal immigration, and Social Security is the perfect place to start," said Rohrbacher.

What Simon says not
Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon is ignoring the issue that would put him into the governor´s mansion. Instead of pandering to Hispanic voters, he should provide leadership about the crisis upon which voters across the political spectrum agree -- that immigration is producing chaos and must be brought under control... [See how Republicans lost the last election by ignoring the immigration issue.]

Mexicans in U.S. lash out at Fox for closing migrant office
Mexican migrant representatives in the U.S. said President Vicente Fox's decision to close the government's migrant advocacy office is proof of the executive's lack of commitment to them. -- "This is a real injustice that is being committed against millions of us," Luis E. Pelayo, President of the Hispanic Council, told Reforma daily. -- Fox created the Presidential Office for Mexicans Abroad two years ago to reach out to some 8 million Mexicans residing in the U.S. But the office's director, Juan Hernandez - a dual U.S.-Mexico citizen - was criticized by lawmakers and cabinet officials alike for bypassing them on key immigration issues.
