Eyewitness Report -- Mexicans Gone Wild at CCIR Meeting
May 26, 2005
CA Coalition for Immig. Reform meeting under siege!
This is the mini-report I wrote tonight [May 25] ---thought you would be interested. I am too tired to re-write or edit it.
It was the CCIR mtg! Robin, her Mom, and I carpooled to the CCIR meeting. Hal Netkin of www.mayorno.com was arrested and was taken to jail for ostensibly having run over an illegal alien! (He has been released as of 1 a.m.) Someone told me that the illegal jumped in front of his car, and Hal was afraid for his life and wife, so he went forward. There was a 75 year-old couple who had their car window smashed! There were at least 40 police in uniform (including riot gear) and undercover before and during the meeting. When Jim Gilchrist spoke the thugs became even louder and started banging their drums. In order for us to leave, the police had to get their mounted police to block the road. The police helicopter was hovering with their spotlight. Can you imagine how expensive this police coverage was for Garden Grove tonight? It was AWFUL! Robin's Mom and I could not find her for close to 20 minutes, so were relieved that she turned up with someone to transport to her car. Raymond, James, Michele and her friend showed up, so it was a mini-FIRE DREIER reunion!
I am sure Robin will add to what I have written. Terry Anderson is on with Mark Edwards right now. He did not say anything about the thugs being outside the CCIR meeting, but could have done so before I tuned in at 10:30. Most of the several hundred protesters were on the young side, so we are thinking that we were witnessing the results of liberal academia -- wreaking havoc on our college students.
More later. Michele took some photos and I think Robin did as well. I took only the one that I forwarded to Rae just before I phoned her to alert her to the website where you could hear what was going on. I just bought a digital camera 2 wks ago to take to Las Vegas for the Summit this weekend, but unfortunately I did not realize that it had to be charged up, so I could not test it out tonight--had to use my camera phone.
LaOpinion was there tonight along with the Spanish TV stations -- so you can just imagine the biased coverage that will result.
