Hey, all,

On February 6, 2008, the New School in New York held a symposium on the issue of illegal immigration, with distinguished speakers, like Heather MacDonald of the Manhattan Institute, and several others.

One of the speakers was Jorge Bustamante, sociology professor at the University of Notre Dame. Here is a clip containing PART of the speech delivered by Mr. Bustamante, uploaded to YouTube by FORA.TV, here:

Mr. Bustamante puts the issue of immigration control in a very different light.

Mr. Bustamante tries to draw a parallel between apartheid in the former South Africa, the current genocide in Darfur and the US government's attempt to control the US borders UNILATERALLY!  According to him, these are all issues requiring a different treatment of national sovereignty.

According to Mr. Bustamante, since "immigration" involves individuals from other countries, the issue is BY DEFINITION a multilateral issue, and will NEVER be resolved by unilateral  policies!

And, he wasn't thrown out!!!!
