The following is an e-mail I sent to the Orange County Rag, er, Register:
For shame! A newspaper should champion our First Amendment rights. Your story of December 9, 2001 (Rally Becomes Brawl) describes a gang of fascist thugs assaulting people petitioning their government for redress of grievances as "anti-racists". That must make the demonstrators racists. When criminals show up at a lawful rally wearing masks and set upon peaceful demonstrators so as to prevent a lawful demonstration they are not "anti-racists". They are fascist thugs and you should say so, despite what they call themselves. Osama Bin Laden calls himself a freedom fighter. Is he? One day those same thugs will assault you and trash your offices when you print something they take as offensive. What will you say then? Who will you complain to when you lose your First Amendment rights? This is not reporting. It is propaganda. You should be ashamed!
This dissemination of propaganda must be protested. Let them know we are watching.
