A note from the opposition

Dear American Patrol,

There was something rather troubling about one of the editorials someone forwarded to you from a newspaper. He said:

"If Stars and Stripes offend you, or you don't like Uncle Sam, then you should seriously consider a move to another part of this planet. We are happy with our culture and have no desire to change, and we really don't care how you did things where you came from. This is OUR COUNTRY, our land, and our lifestyle.

Our First Amendment gives every citizen the right to express his opinion and we will allow you every opportunity to do so. But, once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about our flag, our pledge, our national motto, or our way of life, I highly encourage you to take advantage of one other great American freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE."

It's fine that we, as citizens of this so-called "great" country, have the "right to leave." However, this is probably one of the most ludicrous things ANYONE can say!

Obviously, the ones who actually do gripe, whine, and complain are most likely the ones who are in the lower classes. They're poor. I'm sure many of these individuals would love to go somewhere that actually has more freedoms than the U.S., such as Holland, or some other somewhat Socialist country. However, the fact that they are poor makes it unrealistic for them to just leave. It seems that the rich are the ones in the best position to go wherever they want, however, they don't need to because they're rich.

Furthermore, we ALL should feel obliged to whine, complain, kick and scream just for the fact that we HAVE a First Amendment that protects our freedom of speech. We should use it whenever we see something that we perceive to be wrong. For instance, you people see illegal immigration as wrong ... or people who are NOT Christian as wrong, but as we have all seen there is much dispute on these areas, so much so that it is kind of hard to tell who is right and wrong.

At the fiasco in Anaheim I talked to both sides, and both sides gave credible arguments for their position. However, I agree with the other side more. For instance, I SAW how the fight REALLY started, and it was not the "communists" or the "reconquistas" that started it. You should also be ashamed that you have twisted events around to fit it to your agenda. You people call yourselves "Christians", yet I seriously doubt Jesus Christ would go about whining and complaining about "illegal immigrants" coming across the border. Something tells me he would open his arms in acceptance of these people. Yes, they ARE people, they are NOT "wetbacks" or "mud people" as I have heard some of your supporters yell.

I suppose that is all I should write, however I hope you can at least give some thought to what I have written.
