Dear V.C.T.,
The Orange County Register's story about the protest rally at the Anaheim City Hall against Mexican I.D. cards being used by the police was all wet. In the story "Rally becomes a brawl" by Page Austin, he says "little was actually said about the I.D. cards at the rally". This is a huge lie. If Mr. Austin had been paying attention he would have heard a long dissertation by Glenn Spencer regarding the legal arguments against the action taken by the Orange County Police Chiefs. He would have heard Spencer say that accepting I.D. cards from one group of people based on their country of national origin (in this case Mexico) is obviously unconstitutional and unlawful.
The Orange County Register has a long record of negative coverage against citizens trying to stop illegal immigration and resisting Mexican interference in the internal affairs of our nation. The Register story carefully avoids mentioning the central theme at the rally that accepting Mexican I.D. by local police is nothing more than passive resistance to federal immigration law. The Anaheim police chiefs are saying they don't like the paperwork headache of enforcing federal immigration laws in an overrun city like Anaheim. Also, they don't want to deal with those pesky "La Raza" acitivists who are continually on their backs for working with I.N.S. at the Anaheim jail to identify and deport illegal aliens. I say turn in your badges if you feel that way. Nowhere in the story was there mention Spencer's promised class action lawsuit againt the Police Chiefs of Orange County and the City of Anaheim. Mr. Austin must have been working on his lap top computer and missed everything said by the speakers.
Sincerely,
Larry B
