Eyewitness Report
San Bernardino Rally Against Day Laborer Nuisances Successful
Report/Photos by Mark Anderson
December 5, 2004The rally at Home Depot in San Bernardino [on the morning of December 4, 2004] was a complete success! The event was organized by some of the Patriotic members of SaveOurState.org. About 25-30 Patriotic Protesters showed up to support the anti-illegal immigration cause. They all did a fine job!
Of course, the pro-illegal immigration advocates showed up too. They had some immigrant workers rights group organize their presence and made up a bunch of nifty signs to hand out to the Mexican protesters. More than 80% of their group left before the event was over.
All of the protesters of the anti-illegal immigrant side remained until the event concluded. (about 10:30).
I drove by the protest site about a half hour later and 10 or so day-laborers were back on the street. But, for the duration of the protest, the slew of day workers that show up there every day were unable to get a days work from the employers who illegally employ them.
The day was a complete success!
