Dear American Patrol;
The following opinion-editorial article was forwarded to me. This article just recently appeared in the Temecula Valley News on June 6, 2003 (Vol. 4, Issue 22). This article, written by Freeman Sawyer, would make a great posting to your website.

Temecula, CAGOT MEChA?
At high schools and colleges across the United States, chapters of this revolutionary group are up and running. MEChA is an acronym for "Movimienta estudiantil de Chicano de Aztlan," the student movement of Aztlan Chicanos. The primary goal of this group is to liberate and return to Mexico the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. The true objective of this group is hard to believe, but don't take it lightly. MEChA's members are serious as a heart attack!
A recent Zogby Poll taken in Mexico revealed that 58% of Mexican citizens believe that Aztlan should be returned to Mexico. The government of Mexico won't allow chapters of MEChA in their own country because it is too revolutionary. No doubt they, encourage MEChA to keep recruiting members here in the U. S.in an effort to realize their ultimate goal. MEChA is forcefully pushing illegal immigration, open borders, driver's licenses for illegals and voting rights for illegals, Spanish an official language of the U.S.
MEChA's claims are based on their perception that the U. S. took advantage of Mexico in the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe- Hildalgo. The agreement that officially ended the war with Mexico and settled boundary disputes between the two countries. What no MEChA member will tell you, is the United States paid Mexico $15,000,000 for this land back in 1848. I suspect that was a lot of money then.
Founded in the late 60's MEChA's efforts have been to indoctrinate students in the anti-American ideology of reconquista, the reconquest of Aztlan. Today they have over 300 chapters in universities and high schools throughout this country, with over 100 of them in California. This is a very determined group. You might ask yourself why high school and college administrators allow an anti-American and racist organization to exist on campuses. Many unbelievable things are being ignored today in the name of political correctness. These administrators need the real truth about MEChA.
One of MEChA's slogans is "por la raza todo; fuera la raza nada" which translates "for those of our race everything, for those outside it nothing." No doubt any Klan member would be proud to claim this idea as his own. The following was obtained from a MEChA website. "In the spirit of a new people that is conscious not only of its proud historical heritage, but also of the brutal 'gringo' invasion of our territories. It goes on to say Aztlan belongs to those who plant the seeds, water the fields, and gather the crops and not to the foreign European (white.) Unfortunately, they don't like Jews as well.
When pressed, MEChA says their goal is to encourage hispanics to stay in school. This line is pulled out whenever they are trying to infiltrate another campus, or when a reporter gets on the Aztlan story. MEChA has a history of suspicious, secretive behavior. Reporters have been refused admission to or asked to leave prior to a meeting. Members are not allowed to record meetings. Certain topics on their website are forbidden to nonmembers. If this is just an innocent club working to keep kids in school, why the informational blackout? I am surprised that local newspapers have not caught on.
Is it necessary in this time of war and insecurity that an organization with the goal of overthrowing the government in four of our United States be permitted? If you feel strongly this type of organization has no place in schools where our children are being educated, let us unite and call for their immediate elimination. Let's start with our own backyard and call for the elimination of MEChA chapters at Murrieta Valley High Schools, Fallbrook High School and Temecula Valley High School at once
