Letter to the Contra Costa Times
October 28, 2007
As an American citizen living in Orinda, I wish to respond to your article, "Hispanic group pulls conference from KC."
It is outrageous that the Hispanic activists' threatened to cancel their convention in Kansas City, MO., unless the city fires Frances Semler solely because of her membership with an organization advocating immigration control.
I would like to warn ethnic open-border activists that their strategy will backfire. This is the United States of America and our rights to freedom of speech and association are unalienable.
Some immigrants are assets to the United States, but if we keep admitting massive waves of Third World foreign nationals, soon we will lose our above-mentioned most precious rights!
An immigration moratorium is therefore urgently needed.
