Dave Gibson's article on President's defacto amnesty plan

Posted on AmericanDaily.com on 12/02/05

Americans should know that President Bush only wants unlimited guest worker visas and amnesty for possibly over 11 million illegal aliens. If he were serious about securing our borders, why hasn't he hired an additional 2000 border patrol agents as recommended by the 9/11 Commission? His proposal as well as Senators Kennedy-McCain's amnesty bill will be a repeat of "IRCA" passed in 1986. That bill amnestied 3 million illegal aliens but provisions to curb illegal immigration included in that legislation have been seldom enforced.

Americans concerned about our national unity should heed the following: Last December, the Mexican government published a guide advising illegal Mexican nationals on how to cross the U.S. border safely. In 2001, Ernesto Ruffo Appel, then-border czar of Mexico, reportedly told would-be illegal Mexican migrants: "If the border patrol agent finds you, try again." In 1997, Ernest Zedillo, then- President of Mexico, said in Chicago: "I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important - a very important - part of it."

Mexico has been pushing for benefits and amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. Those amnestied aliens, once naturalized, could vote in U.S. elections and petition for extended family members to immigrate. Those relatives once naturalized and children born here of illegal aliens and guest workers are also U.S. citizens and future voters.

According to the 2000 Census, the U.S. population increased by about 13% from 1990 to 2000, while people who identified themselves as Mexican increased by 53%. If this trend continued, within just a few decades, the majority of people in the U.S. could very well be of Mexican ancestry.

Do Mexican and other Americans really want Mexico to use legal and illegal migration to extend the Mexican nation?
