LA Port Considered Greater Security Risk Than LAX

What the attached article on the KNBC website doesn't say is that Tom Ridge is a bald-faced lying sack of %#*@! when it comes to port security.
A report televised on KNBC-TV (Los Angeles) this morning showed taped coverage of Ridge at a press conference earlier this year telling reporters that our seaports are safe. The KNBC reporter then interviewed several longshoremen employed at the Port of Los Angeles. All said that very few containers are inspected. The reporter concluded that fewer than one half of one percent of incoming containers are ever checked for contraband, WMDs, biological weapons, etc. The reporter went on to say that he had been told that there isn't enough funding to do anything about securing the ports.
The incompetent Bush Administration must be simply keeping their greedy fingers crossed, hoping that nothing major happens on numskull Bush's watch. This idiot is even worse than Bill Clinton.
