It's not the content of the character, but the color of the skin that matters

There's a racial controversy raging in the Santa Ana, California school board right now. It seems that some in the city have racist attitudes and are trying to run a poor Latina named Rosemary Avila off the school board. One of the complaints against Senora Avila is that some believe she was deceptive and tried to "pass."
A Democratic Reconquista in Santa Ana
Avila's critics long have tried to isolate her as a Latina-by-convenience, charging she uses her husband's surname to win ethnic votes. Her maiden name is Rosemarie Ilse Leonhardt, born in Guatemala of German extraction. She borrows her middle name from her mother, Ilse Schieber. -- Agustin Gurza, L.A. Times' Token Reconquista and Mexican National

Now, you may have heard that Orange County California, where Santa Ana is located, is a bastion of conservatism. You know what that means, right? Racism. Oh, it'll be subtle, but it'll be there. All you have to do is parse the words of a conservative and you'll find the secret racist. But, this is different. There's nothing subtle about this racism. This hard working Latina is being set upon because of her race. How can such racism and bigotry exist? Why isn't the national press covering this story? How do these obviously mentally defective knuckle dragging slack jawed bigots seeking a scapegoat think they can get away with this "lynching?"

Folks. This is the type of thing that gives conservatives a bad name. Haven't they learned anything in the past 35 or so years? Conservatives can't allow this type of racism to give them a bad name. Senora Avila won her election and that's that. And, so what if she even did hide her real race when she was running, as those who are verbally attacking her seem to be indicating? If more voters had had a chance to see her skin color, would they have let that sway their vote? Apparently so, to listen to those attacking Senora Avila.

Of course, Senora Avila could just call her detractors racists, but she's not doing that. Instead, she's actually on the defensive and is meekly saying that there was no attempt to pass for a person of another race and that she didn't hide from voters. Why isn't she outraged and why isn't she calling her detractors "racists"?

And, where the hell is the Department of Justice?

The facts seem to support Senora Avila, in her contention that she didn't lie to voters and she didn't try to hide the fact that she is a Latina. After all, her name is a dead give away. Senora Avila was so open about herself that she even told everyone the truth that she had been born in Guatemala. Oh, maybe she could have plastered photos of herself all around the city so voters would know the truth, but that's not required under our election laws. If the bigots are too stupid to check her out even though she didn't hide her Latino identity, that's their problem. No doubt, any bigots who wanted to vote against her because they are prejudiced against Latinos had that opportunity in the privacy of the voting booth. No hoods needed. No one need know about the secret racial hatred, bias and bigotry against Latinos. Just mark the ballot for one of her opponents.

So, given the above, why are the white racist anti-Latino bigots causing a big stink?

They're not. You didn't jump to that conclusion did you? If you did, you may wish to check your conditioning. You see, Senora Avila has white skin. Even worse, she's a German. And, one might go so far to say that she's an Aryan. It seems that Senora Avila was born in Guatemala of a German mother and a German father who were missionaries. She even knows a couple of Spanish words. She got the name Avila from her husband.

Those against Senora Avila aren't white racists at all. They're evidently brown racists who don't like whites and who say that Senora Avila doesn't have a right to claim that she's a Latina. These bigots believe that in the mostly Latino Santa Ana School District, brown pride should have ruled. They contend, apparently, that had all the brown people known the truth about how horribly white Senora Avila is, she wouldn't have stood a snowball's chance in hell of being elected. They're probably right.

However, don't shed too many tears for Senora Avila in her battle against anti-white bigots, because she's apparently not a white heroine standing up for her race as Jeb Bush's Latino son was told to stand up for his race (Latinos). Instead, Senora Avila, like so many whites today, seems to want to be less white and this is apparently why she prefers to be known as a Latina. Senora Avila, if news reports are to be believed, has also set her German family jewels on a path to become totally non-white. Senora Avila's true white German genetic heritage is being absorbed into a brown Latino genetic heritage. Senora Avila will evidently be the last white branch on her part of her family tree, and apparently she doesn't mind that at all. She proudly told one newspaper, as a way to defend her bona fides as a Latina, that before she goes to bed at night she kisses six Latinos in her family--her husband and children. She's the only German in the group. And the last. So those who oppose Ms. Avila for being white just have to wait a while and all those horrible genes for whiteness will be gone.

Now, it should be pointed out that many Latinos are struggling with identity issues. Some say a Latino identity isn't racial. They say it is national or ethnic or language related. Some eschew the term "Latino," in favor of "Hispanic," while others prefer to be known as brown people But not all Latinos or Hispanics are brown at all. In addition, there is a small movement of those from Mexico who want to be known as Mexicans instead of Latinos or Hispanics. In addition, people from Spain are Europeans and are far different genetically from the majority mestizo population of large parts of Latin America.

However, the major trend that seems to be developing in California is one of brown racism. The millions of illegal immigrants streaming across our southern border aren't primarily white Latinos. They're short, brown skinned Indians and mestizos (Indian/European blend). It is these short brown people who are primarily pushing for "Latino" to be defined as meaning brown people, which of course means that it is to be defined in terms of genes and thus is a racial category.

Because of the confusion of terms and definitions, those who want to defend against cries of brown racism simply say that Latino doesn't refer to a race. Then they wink to their brown audience.

The LOS ANGELES TIMES, ever PC, constantly runs puff pieces about this or that "Latino" who has suddenly discovered his (brown) "heritage" and who has thrown off his European surname and immersed himself in his "proud" roots. They don't call this racism, but change the identities of those in the stories from brown to white and such stories would be condemning those involved for racism.

Don't hold your breath for the TIMES to run any puff pieces about whites suddenly discovering their Aryan heritage and immersing themselves in their "proud" roots. Instead, expect to see puff pieces about how wonderful it is for whites to intermarry with brown and black people. Of course, the TIMES won't characterize this as the extinction and genocide that it truly is, because in our Brave New World, it's not nice to be white.
