POLITICAL THUGGERY

10/5/03

According to Sacramento Bee (see [1]), Democrats are already gearing up for a post-vote assault on the results of the gubernatorial recall election in California that they expect to lose at the polls. Which brings up this question: shouldn't they accept the outcome of this due process and not attempt to impose on us their rule against our will? One may hope that some day they see all the damage they are inflicting on our society that is supposed to yield to reason and not to force, but the chances are that they will not. Their attitude may be best characterized by a statement made about half century ago by a spokesman of another "liberal" state, Soviet Union, who, when asked how come a Socialist country, China, presumably a quintessence of peace, justice, and non-aggression, invaded its neighbor, South Korea, had this to say: "We were stronger, therefore, we attacked".

When one looks back into the history of various trends and flavors of Socialism, American liberalism is a relatively mild version of, there are two distinctive features that span all them into one pretty coherent ideology. First, their main source of political power is their ability to control masses of the poor and disfranchised, most of which are not used to subtleties of political disputes or to drawing logical conclusions from the facts they can observe. Second, which to large extent is a consequence of the first, they have a tendency to settle the disputes and controversies in a way that seems characteristic to their very political base: by force and not by reason. Whether one takes a look at Jacobean's dictatorship in France in 1790-ties, Soviet revolution in Russia in 1917, or National-Socialist takeover in Germany in 1930-ties, the pattern was strikingly similar in that it followed closely the principles described above. The reason, in a pathological form of demagoguery, was used only to lure the masses to the "cause" and to take them under firm control, after which force was the only thing that counted. A force that had a tendency to turn into the worst thuggery that one can even think of taking place in otherwise civilized countries.

It would be naive to expect that the above regularity was just a co-incidence, and that it doesn't have to be an indispensable feature of contemporary left-leaning liberal movements. The thug's principle "We were stronger, therefore, we attacked" has been deeply hardwired into core ideology of political left and may be treated as one of the cornerstones of all socialist revolutions in the history of human civilization. That was what they did time and again, most recently, to Sen. Bob Dole in 1996 (successfully), President George W. Bush in 2000 (unsuccessfully) and now are doing to Arnold Schwarzenegger (with unpredictable outcome) whom they cannot defeat on facts and issues related to California governorship. If you have any doubts about what's really going on here, just recall what "sins" such unfaithful husbands and/or womanizers like FDR, JFK, Bill Clinton, and Jesse Jackson, a notorious political assailant himself, did commit while in office and got away with, with a blessing from currently "outraged" leaders, organizations, and so-called "mainstream" media.

Remember this: when nobody votes, Democrats win. So, if you are a registered voter in California then make sure to cast your ballot in coming election on October 7, 2003. That's what you need to do in order to make political thugs irrelevant before they gain too much strength. Because all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.
