Back to previous page | Home1/8/04 -- Hi Americanpatrol: The don't shop day is a worthwhile idea, although we would need tens of millions of participants for it to have enough effect to catch the attention of the establishment.
Another way I figure I can protest Bush's amnesty is to change my voter registration from Republican to Independent. If a few hundred thousand others did likewise, that would be enough to catch the attention of the Republican Party. -- Sincerely, LBS

Subject: RE: DON'T SHOP DAY CATCHING ONGlenn, I will be participating and have forwarded this information to as many media contacts as possible. I am also making a poster for the back of my car window.
We should also include in the list of don'ts -- don't stay in major hotels or use any of their services, since the travel and hospitality lobbies are also responsible for the push toward amnesty under the innocuous label of "guest-worker" programs.

12/29/03 -- Dear Glenn: Imagine that no American citizen shopped on Jan. 12, and each person observing this boycott each spent an hour making reports on "safe houses", illegal alien's employers and the greasy job-stealers themselves. We, American citizens, KNOW who and where they are. The problem is that American officials are NOT acting on information they are given, which I personally suspect is due to officials who are members of "La Raza" not deliberately quashing action against other members of "La Raza" who have "only" committed the felony of illegal entry into this country. -- (Name with-held by American Patrol)
12/29/03 -- Dear Glenn Spencer, Thanks for informing Americans about this Jan. 12th protest! My family will not shop at all that day! Do you remember when then Gov. Bush called a Journalist "A major league A-hole?".If President George Bush allows amnesty for illegal aliens, he will go down in American history as an A-hole HALL OF FAMER! --- P. Espinoza
December 29, 2003 -- Hi Glenn, Everyone is really getting the word out. I think it's going to have a big impact. -- Along the same lines I think we should add: Make No Bank Deposits that day. Do Not pay any bills (from the 9th-12th). -- Remember No online shopping either. -- Sincerely, Shanna in Arizona
December 29, 2003 -- Glenn: Just imagine what a strong message empty malls, empty grocery stores, empty toy stores, empty GAS STATIONS, etc, will send to those who have the power to tighten our lax immigration policies. -- By not shopping for anything on Jan. 12th, you will be sending a strong message........and you won't have to "demonstrate", carry a placard, or even leave the comfort of your own home. -- Remember every one of the people who died on 9/11 AS A RESULT OF OUR OPEN BORDERS............

Subject: This day in HistoryI did a search for historical events for the days between now and Jan 12 - when President Bush will meet with President Fox, and the day when hundreds of thousands of Americans will not do ANY shopping. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Pledge of Allegiance. Tuesday is the anniversary of the U.S.- Mexico border. Wednesday is the anniversary of the opening of Ellis Island. We will add another day: January 12, 2004 - the American people protested illegal immigration with their pocketbook. barb v.

Subject: National No Shop Day 1/12/04Dear Sir, The no shop day on 1/12/04 could stop Bush dead in his amnesty tracks if it catches on and I very much think it will. My friends and family are spreading the word fast. The media is always writing about the great economic clout of the Latino lobby to make driver's licenses and Latino benefits happen. This could be a demonstration of REAL economic power that could upstage Bush/Fox in Monterrey Mexico on 1/12/04. This Bush-amnesty counter-measure is a brillant idea. Suddenly we don't have to be observers watching our citizenship, sovereignty and law being thrown away by a pandering and corrupt George Bush.
Sincerely, Larry Brown Riverside, Ca.

Subject: Re: Jan12/04 No ShoppingHi Glenn,
Good idea. I could stretch it out further too.! I can't believe that Bush has a 63% approval rate, -- the people are not aware of what the plans he has for us include. I would say that FTAA is in the works also, and that would legitimize the incoming of all of the central american countries as well. After all, if we trade with them, then we must welcome them in. People are insane to not see what is happening to our country.
A big hug for your beautiful dog, Star, and for you too, for all you are doing. -- J & W M

Subject: Re: STOP AMNESTY DON'T SHOP 1/12Glenn,
Don't know who dreamed this one up but it is the first practical (hence useful) idea for mass expression I have seen. I've sent this out across my email address book list. If we get hot there is time to notify tens of millions of Americans by January 12, and every one of them can easily afford the cost of this proposed action. It's beautiful!

12/27/03 Glenn, making Jan. 12th a "spend no money" day is an EXCELLENT idea. I'll be participating but it will take a lot of discipline from a lot of people to make an impact. I wish Americans realized that the true power in this country is the green stuff and the plastic stuff in their wallet. What would it take to get people talking about the real reason we're being invaded? WHAT IS WRONG WITH MEXICO????? I'm glad to see that the World Bank was talking about it, but I doubt we will hear anything else.
And finally, what happened to the agent that went missing when he was rescuing a woman from the Colorado River?
