10/10/02 -- Hello:
After reading the Sierra Vista Herald article posted on your website today, two glaring news spins caught my eye.
First, the paper used the term "Mexican Nationals" instead of undocumented immigrants or illegal entrants or one of many other euphemisms for "illegal." I've noticed several other papers recently have begun using this term. I suspect that before long the entire news media will take up the torch and use this misleading phrase exclusively when referring to illegal aliens.
Secondly, the article stated these "Mexican Nationals" may be charged with aggravated assault and theft. No mention about being in this country illegally. Why aren't they being charged with illegal entry and subject to deportation?
It's just another insult to the American people.
Thanks for your website.
