O'REILLY FACTOR May 21, 2002
O'Reilly: When was the last time the Mexican Army, as far as you know, came into the USA illegally?
Tancredo: Friday night at about 8:30. Although the details are somewhat sketchy at this point, here's what we know. At about 8:30 Friday night, just south of Ajo, Arizona, and about five miles into the United States, on our side of the border, a Mexican vehicle, a Humvee, with Mexican military inside, opened fire on an American Border Patrol agent.
O'Reilly: Really?
Tancredo: Yes, A bullet passed through the window, shattered the rear window and passed through his front window. They also shot out his tire.

Says Mexican soldier was the shooter; ID disputed by officials

Investigators are trying to confirm whether it was a Mexican soldier who shot at a U.S. Border Patrol agent Friday night on the Tohono O'odham Nation. -- An agent reported coming across three heavily armed Mexican soldiers riding in a Humvee near Papago Farms, about 90 miles southwest of Tucson. -- The agent said he drove away, but a shot ripped through the windows of his Border Patrol vehicle as he fled. -- Mexican officials said Tuesday they think the shooter was not a soldier.
