Mexicans
seek consular ID cards
It may be more than
125 years old, but the matricula consular identification card
is increasingly sought by Mexican expatriates living and working
in the United States.
Saturday, hundreds of Mexicans gathered
at an adult education school in Brentwood to obtain the photo
ID card, which has become more widely accepted in post-Sept.
11 society.
---Glenn Spencer, president of AmericanPatrol.com,
a national organization for anti-immigration activists, considers
the card a privilege for people who should not be living here. |
