Re: Utah sheriff says local police can enforce immigration laws, airs views at Cicil Rights Commission Forum (11/16/01)

Glenn,

A big thank you for the posting about the going on's in St. George Utah. Now you and the rest of the country can see what we here in Utah are having to experience on a daily basis. First we have an INS official, Steven Branch, who never seems to understand what his agency's agenda is or what basically its role should be in dealing with illegal aliens.

Second we have a congressional representative to Washington, Rep. Chris Cannon, who is the Bush point man and cheerleader for amnesty and guest worker programs. He is the one who is trying to push this White House agenda through Congress. And last, but not least, we have the head Mechista in Utah, Michael Martinez, who is determined to place a new political power in charge for the state of Utah.

Michael Martinez is nothing but a scourge upon this state and all I can say is that it must have taken a great deal of willpower to have to sit and listen to him interrogate the sheriff of Washington County. Who does he think he is to be so arrogant with his questions. His tone of voice and attitude towards the sheriff ,as well as the public who were allowed to address the panel, was intolerable. This is the same person who is determined and demanding that the state put more Hispanics on the state bench, because we have such a massive increase in the Latino population here. I guess it doesn't matter that the increase in that groups population is due to illegal non-citizens.

I have been here in Utah for sixteen years Glenn and this is just the start of what I feel to be many more fights for the people of Utah in defense of our way of life and rights as citizens. We used to look at California and watch what was happening to you years ago, with a nonchalant attitude, but now we can't afford to do that any longer, for the invasion is now upon us!

My advice to the rest of the country is act now, don't wait until it is too late ,like Utah did. Know for a certainty that it is only a matter of time before the invasion comes to your home. Here in Utah, we are definitely in trouble.

S U, Lehi, Utah
