U.S. Must Curb the Influx of Aliens
On Nov. 27, 1979, the Los Angeles Police Commission, following directions from the Los Angeles City Council, issued Special Order 40, prohibiting cooperation between the police department and the Immigration and Naturalization Service. Special Order 40, in effect, created a sanctuary for illegal aliens in Los Angeles, a city that will soon have a Mexican majority. --- In the 1996 Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, Congress specifically prohibited restrictions between federal and local law enforcement.

Anti-Immigrant Rally Fails to Catch Fire on LI
Suppose you gave an anti- immigrant rally and nobody came? That's nearly what happened Saturday when the number of conspiracy theories seemed to exceed the number of participants at a so-called educational conference sponsored by the Sachem Quality of Life Organization. -- "It's going to be a great American moment," Ray Wysolmierski, the group's spokesman, predicted about 30 minutes before the extravaganza was to begin, according to a news report.
