Action Alert!
June 16, 2004

Several Spanish language radio stations in the Los Angeles area have been broadcasting reports of Border Patrol interior enforcement operations in progress in order to help illegal aliens avoid those areas ... thereby aiding and abetting lawbreakers during the continuing commission of federal crimes. The stations, according to an article in the Riverside Press Enterprise dated June 16, 2004, are (click the links to get station information, addresses, etc.):

Contact the Federal Communications Commission toll free at (888) 225-5322 [to avoid going through a tedious menu, press '0' to get a live person], or FAX the Los Angeles regional office at 562-865-0763 and demand an immediate investigation of the above radio stations. It would also be a good idea to send or fax a copy to your Congressperson as well. Be advised that the line being used by the FCC people is something in the way of the offending radio stations not actually breaking any laws or FCC rules, and compare this activity to any radio station reporting the location of DUI checkpoints. There is no comparison. Illegal aliens are committing a crime by just being here, and the radio station actions may be aiding them in ongoing criminal activity by helping them avoid apprehension. Also point out that these alerts place the agent's lives in jeopardy. Given the increase of attacks against Border Patrol agents it could be argued they (the radio stations) are trying to incite attacks against the agents.
