Bilingual Required

12/30/01

I was just reading the comment made by one of your readers regarding the employment ad stating "Bilingual Preferred". This is more common than you think. When I applied to the city of Santa Ana as a police officer I was told the city only hires bilingual officers!!! If you go to the city of Santa Ana's web site they clearly advertise for Detention Officer and Police Officer-BILINGUAL!!!. Needless to say I was not hired by the city of Santa Ana.

A little more evidence of the conquest of California. I recently requested my department (I am a police officer) to send me to advanced officer training. I requested to go to a D.U.I class, so I could be classified as a D.U.I expert. I was denied that class and I am being sent to a three day Spanish for law enforcement class. More evidence that the powers at be do not want us to be out there enforcing the laws, they would rather us speaking Spanish so we don't offend our uninvited illegal aliens.
