See this L.A. Times article: Anaheim's Ties to INS Target of Renewed ProtestDear Editor:
I can understand why some Latino leaders are upset with the City of Anaheim for allowing INS agents to process Latino inmates at its city jail, however why should any of us care what Nativo Lopez, the head of Hermandad Mexicana Nacional's Santa Ana office, has to say about this or any other subject?
Lopez and his organization owe millions of dollars to the California State Department of Education, because of their failure to properly account for the use of that money, which was supposed to be used to educate immigrants. Also, over 900 illegal voters, most of them recruited by Hermandad, were purged from the county's voter rolls last year, because of mistakes that Lopez has openly admitted to.
Until Lopez and his organization begin to comply with our state's laws, I don't think their opinion should be courted by the media, especially regarding issues pertaining to the law.
Sincerely,
AP
