Illegals not safe in small farm town
Residents in the small farming community of Bowie say undocumented workers aren't safe there. -- Cochise County investigators were working to identify a Mexican farmworker who was found shot to death along with his girlfriend Tuesday in the town about 90 miles east of Tucson. -- Mexican Consul Miguel Escobar Valdez was notified because the victims are Mexican citizens.

What a laugh. So the Arizona Republic says illegals aren't 'safe' in Bowie and then makes a thinly veiled accusation that it's the 'residents' who might be responsible for their un-safety. The real problem in Bowie, Rodeo and the Eastern Chiricahua slope is the safety of the residents themselves from illegals.

Let me explain. For decades, Mexican criminals have used the remote valley as a crossing route into the United States, running from the Mexican Federal Judicial Police, usually because they didn't have enough money to pay the mordida (literally, 'the bite', or bribe). For years they would turn and run if confronted, but after the late '60s, when the Chicano nationalist organizations whipped up hatred in Mexico for Americans, they became far more aggressive and violent. This resulted in the murder of two townspeople in the small town of Rodeo, New Mexico, by two illegals.

It is still unsafe to confront them - many are armed, and will shoot at Americans to prevent them from alerting 'la migra' - the Border Patrol. This is the reason that the Barnetts - ranchers on the frontier near Douglas - absolutely MUST be armed. Not to be armed is suicide. All the ranchers and cowboys up this otherwise beautiful valley live like this. Some illegals are not hostile, but many are, and they could care less about life and property.

The two victims in Bowie were probably killed in a drug deal dispute. Their execution style deaths reek of the Mexican Mafia, who are among the most vicious and violent human (?) beings on the planet. It is not the 'residents' who have created this: it is the United States government and its basic notion that citizens have no right to be protected from a foreign invasion.
