No Amnesty! No Rewards! Protest Bush's and Kolbe's Amnesty Proposals
1/12/04
For the last couple of years, Rep. Jim Kolbe's townhalls in his home district have become increasingly hostile. The primary issue with which Kolbe is bludgeoned is his support for amnesty for illegal aliens and his proposed guest worker scam. Especially in the Sierra Vista area, Kolbe is unwelcome.
Kolbe is in his home district right now holding several town halls. Coincidentally, just prior to Kolbe coming home, President Bush announced his (actually Karl Rove's) amnesty/rewards for illegal aliens proposals. The media is now out to gauge reaction to Bush/Rove's amnesty/rewards proposals and should be particularly interested in how Kolbe's constituents are reacting since some of Kolbe's proposals were mirrored by the President.
To that end, I suggest those concerned with the border invasion and amnesty attend Kolbe's town halls and speak their minds about the amnesty/rewards proposal. In addition, I suggest that they participate in grassroots protests against amnesty which may occur at the town halls.
Specifically, there is a grassroots effort to organize a protest outside of Rep. Kolbe's townhall meeting in Sierra Vista on the 15th of January. The town hall will be held at 6:30 pm at the Sierra Vista City Council Chambers on Coronado Drive. Protesters should show up before 6 pm with signs and other assorted props to demonstrate their disagreement with Bush's and Kolbe's amnesty proposals. Please inform like minded individuals about this protest and request their participation. The intended message is "No Amnesty! No Rewards!" --Todd Evans
