Re: Profiling in Washington County? Accusations are false, sheriffs office says
Deseret News - 11/17/0111/20/01
Glenn,
Again our Utah INS officer in charge, Steven Branch, has put his foot in his mouth. He is questioning the Washington County Sheriff's Office ability to detain and arrest illegal aliens, even after the 10th Circuit Court has issued their ruling that local law enforcement officials have every right to do so. Why is everyone in this country on a different page from each other. It is enough to make you scream! He also said he was concerned with the county sheriff's office making these arrests when the INS is the only agency that is equipped and trained for this duty. Give me a break! That's right leave it to the INS to handle, they did such a great job on September 11th. I sure do feel safer knowing that the INS is on the job, forget that we have near 8 million illegals in this country that the INS has no idea who or where they are. Also, heaven forbid that we should make these Hispanics feel scared and afraid to go out in public. Gee, I wonder why they are afraid to be out in public? My wife is an immigrant from the Philippines, she's not afraid to go out in public, why? Because she played by the rules and entered this country legally. If I have to hear one more time how all the rules and laws need to change for the benefit of these lawbreakers I think I'm going to vomit.
Thanks for every thing you do, Glenn. You are a blessing. Could you post anything on your website about your recent visit to St. George? I sure would appreciate it, hopefully next time you can make it to Salt Lake City. Keep up the good work.
