Guzzardi for Governor Website

August 10, 2003

Dear Friends:

The August 9th filing date has come and gone. My paper work is in and I am one of 158 in the field.

The Los Angeles Times did a thumbnail sketch of the candidates. To my delight, it quoted me accurately about my mission --- to discuss the impact of illegal immigration on California. The other bios were assorted nonsense.

Entrenched Democrats like Governor Davis and Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamante and and cowardly Republicans like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Arianna Huffington, and Bill Simon will give us plenty of fodder for our "Common Sense in Immigration Platform."

While you may hear an occasional aside from one of the above regarding immigration, their murmurings will not begin to approach the 60-day hammering I intend to give the immigration issue. Read my column this week on VDare.com .

I expect that the media frenzy about Schwarzenegger will die down soon. He will be in situations that will require him to speak with some authority about California's woes. After school programs are not among California's top 100 problems although Schwarzenegger does not seem to be aware of that.

We will have our day on radio and television. Since the media is consumed with Arnold and with the website not quite completed (scheduled for 8/11/2003), I have not felt the need to press for appearances. But those shows will have to fill three to four hours a day for the next eight weeks so we will get our air time.

This will be the last E-Letter you receive except to announce last minute television or radio appearances. Major campaign statements will be found on the website on a regular and possibly daily basis.

Also Glenn Spencer will be posting frequent short messages on www.americanpatrol.com . The first posted today. These will be written spontaneously and as often as conditions warrant. Please check often.

In all likelihood, my regular column at VDARE.COM will suspended effective next week. However, my column on CalNews.com will continue. That is a major plus for us since the site is entirely devoted to California news and is read throughout the state.

Please use your address books to circulate this E-Letter and website information to all of your friends and associates. If you don't have an address book, please create one. Word of mouth is essential for us.

The "Joe Guzzardi for Governor" campaign will be as successful as you make it. Tell your friends and work colleagues, send me their e-mail addresses, direct them to the website.

If you view my candidacy as an impossible long shot, then we will come up short. But if you see it as a realistic reflect of the hopes and desires of most Californians, then we have a good shot to pull off a major upset. Remember Jesse Ventura, Howard Jarvis and Seabiscuit!

Here, as of August 9, 2003 is the appearance schedule for next week. All times listed are PDT:

Sunday, August 10, 8:00 P.M. Pacific time: The Terry Anderson Show: [KRLA - 870 AM - LA & Other Stations - Call In (866) 870-5752 -  Listen]
