As I see it Operation B. E. E. F. Update I am writing this from a motel room in Imperial, California. Outside the wind is howling and in about thirty minutes we are going to fly out of here to Naco, Arizona. Yesterday we surveyed the border from Naco to San Diego as part of Operation B.E.E.F. What we saw was appalling. Despite news reports to the contrary we found only about three miles of fencing along this 500-stretch of border since we last flew it on January 18. We did see some new vehicle barriers – barriers that a person can walk through or step over. Much of this new vehicle barrier was constructed out of old railroad rails with many breaks. In the next week American Border Patrol will analyze this new data to produce detailed maps of the border fence. We will combine these new data with the results of our recent survey of the El Paso Sector to produce a comprehensive picture of the border fence. The American People must know, however, that once again their government has failed to keep its promise to secure our border. We can continue to put up with this and lose our country, or stand together and elect to office only those who are truly committed to the idea of a United States of America. |
