Border Security Town Hall Oct 9, Las Cruces
On Sunday, October the 9th, at the Farm and Ranch Museum in Las Cruces, NM there will be a townhall meeting to address the issues of immigration reform and border security. The meeting will be held in the amphitheatre, will run from 2PM to 5PM, and is free to the general public.
Representatives from the Texas Minutemen, the Colorado Minutemen and New Mexico Border Watch will be on the panel, and each of them will have five minutes to present an overview of the issues following the main speaker, Gloria Garza Deverich. Gloria is the daughter of Joe Garza, the founder of LULAC. She will cover the history of LULAC, the changes it has gone through over the years, and where she sees it heading into the future. As LULAC is the main voice for Latin-Americans today, this speech will make an excellent backdrop for the positions of the other panelists before opening up discussion and questions fron the audience.
Ray Ybarra has been invited to represent the ACLU, but has not responded at this time. If Mr. Ybarra is unable to attend, then another of the panelists, who is also an ACLU member will speak on thier behalf.
