SENATE HEARINGS ON AMNESTY
CitizensLobby.com -- February 13, 2004The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration held hearings yesterday on Bush's amnesty proposal. Top Bush administration officials testified in favor of legalizing millions of illegal aliens and bringing in millions of more "foreign workers" under a so-called "guest worker" program. These hearings are the first step towards pushing the disastrous Bush amnesty through Congress, and actual legislation will likely take shape from Sen. Cornyn's amnesty bill (S. 1387), Sen McCain's (S. 1461), and/or the Daschle/ Hagel bill (S. 2010).
We'll keep you posted when there is a committee mark-up on this legislation. In the meantime, we urge all citizens to contact these committee chairmen and tell them you oppose ANY and ALL amnesty and guest-worker proposals:
