Re: Illegal activity by Mayor Anderson

December 26, 2001

Dear Mr. Warner,

The following article appeared in Tuesday's Tribune. I am appalled. Although not a resident of Salt Lake City, I'm probably a resident of at least one city that Anderson may be conspiring with to aid, abet, or harbor illegal aliens (among other things). I urge your office to seek an indictment against this Anderson character at once to send a message to others that lawless behavior such as his is unacceptable.

Personally I think it's a stretch to consider Anderson's efforts to aid criminals by warning them of impending raids "legal", as the Associated Press quotes your Melodie Rydalch as saying. If this is the case, please fax me a list of laws I can break and get away with as an American citizen so that I can share them with others as Anderson has blatantly done. Ignoring Anderson's actions is like telling the world that being a look-out for a bank robbery isn't criminal.

Seriously, I find it impossible to believe that your office can't find anything to prosecute this guy for. There are millions of citizens like me who want illegal aliens rounded up and deported, not encouraged and protected as if they were law-abiding U.S. citizens. Thank you.

Sincerely,
