Mayor Anderson,
As a hardworking middle class taxpayer, I am outraged at your 1-sided definition of "compassion" toward people who have broken our laws. (both employer and employee)
This Country cannot and WILL NOT permit the entire world to enter into our country. The room is full.
THE STATUE OF LIBERTY DOES NOT SAY: "GIVE ME YOUR ILLEGAL HUNGRY, TIRED, AND POOR."
THERE ARE NO VACANCIES Left in this country.
You will be voted out of office along with all the rest of the corrupt and weak politicians for selling out the immigrants who love this country so much that they PROVED IT THROUGH:
1) following/respecting our immigration process
2) learned English and swore allegiance to our Constitution forsaking their country of origin. (no dual citizenship)
3) where's your compassion for those legal immigrants who voted for you in good faith, Mr. Mayor, to uphold our laws???

Mayor Anderson,
Let me begin by saying that I am not a resident of Salt lake
City, but I do fly in and out of SLC often. In fact I had planned
on visiting the Winter Olympics until I discovered what is going
on in your city.
Just who in the hell do you think you are to be flouting American
laws like a common criminal and supporting those invaders who
had the audacity to sneak into our nation to steal jobs, drive
down wages, and put additional strain on an already overburdened
safety net intended to help citizens and legal residents? To
add insult to injury, you are now defending criminals who may
well be endangering the lives of air travelers from all over
the world? You, sir, are a serious problem. You need to be thrown
out of office immediately and charged with conspiracy to obstruct
justice at the federal level at the very least.
I, along with many others, will be contacting Paul Warner, U.S.
Attorney, in the coming days and weeks and will be asking him
to take care of your personal criminal activity and urging him
to work to enforce our immigration laws, including pressing your
state A.G. to seek implementation of part of the 1996 Illegal
Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRAIRA).
Contained therein is Section 133 which authorizes the Attorney
General of the United States to "enter into a written agreement
with a State, or any political subdivision of a state, pursuant
to which an officer or employee of the State or subdivision,
who is determined by the Attorney General to be qualified to
perform a function of any immigration officer in relation to
investigation, apprehension or detention of aliens in the United
Slates ... may carry out such function of the State or political
subdivision and to the extent consistent with State and local
law." In the meantime I will personally be avoiding Salt
Lake City like the plague.
