American Border Patrol

This is the San Pedro River in Southeastern Arizona. After DHS removed barriers to allow for monsoon rains (that never came) illegals began flooding across the border instead. A Border Patrol vehicle is posted at this break less than half the time. The rest of the time they spend chasing them farther north.

This break of about 1/4 mile is the only one in a 42-mile fence that runs from the Huachuca Mountains to east of Douglas. It is interesting to note that before the fence went in, BP rarely posted an agent at this spot, even though it was a major crossing point. Could it be that fencing allows BP to make better use of its agents? Duuhhhh!
