| American Border Patrol took delivery of new Challenger light sports aircraft on Tuesday, August 4. People from Skyes the Limit! are seen doing final assembly of the Challenger in ABP’s hangar at Bisbee airport. The Challenger will be used for very special border surveillance missions that require "stealthiness". This video shows how the Challenger II can glide for long durations with the engine off. ABP’s challenger is being equipped to fly at night. It will carry a very powerful thermal camera that can spot a person at five miles. "The Challenger II will give us the capability to watch border crossers at night without being seen or heard," said Glenn Spencer, head of ABP. |
