Border Tech Project Delayed

As announced below, the Department of Homeland Security will not award the contract for the new Integrated Fixed Tower project until after Aug. 1, 2013. (See U.S. Takes Another Shot At Networking the Border).
The announcement came late on Oct. 17, the same day Border Technology demonstrated the IDENTISEIS® system at a major border tech expo.

IFT Special Notice:
For the purposes of industry planning, the government would like to provide an update on the progress of the Integrated Fixed Tower (IFT) source selection. The government is conducting source selection on a larger number of proposals than originally estimated. The quantity of proposals will extend the schedule to complete the evaluation process. The Government anticipates System Maturity and Deployment Capability Demonstrations occurring at the end of the 2nd Quarter of FY13. As a reminder, demonstrations will occur after the competitive range decision has been made for those offerors within the competitive range. The current estimated schedule for contract award is 4thQuarter FY13. This update is not intended to change the scope, content or instructions in the IFT RFP and associated amendments.
