The Mexican Army Deliberately Crossed
August 7, 2008
The recent incident involving the Mexican Army and the Border Patrol raised questions about the whereabouts of the border. In the following American Patrol proves that the Mexican Army crossed the border deliberately.
Mexican soldiers enter state, hold border agent at gunpoint
“Details remain sketchy, but the incident occurred at 2 a.m. on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation about 50 miles southeast of Ajo. The incident took place just north of the border in sight of the new border fence. “
A DELIBERATE CROSSING – AMERICAN PATROL ANALYSIS
The Arizona Republic reports that the spot is 50 miles southeast of Ajo, about where that the Border Patrol encountered Mexican army personnel.
There is a fence along the border in this area. However, as this photo shows, there is an open gate on the Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation.
The report says the incident took place in sight of the new border "fence". The new border "fence" (actually a vehicle barrier) begins four miles west of this gate. (See photo)
American Border Patrol did spot a fresh break in the border fence less than a mile (0.65 miles to be exact) from the new border vehicle barriers. (See photo)
It could well be that the Mexican Army personnel crossed at one of these two openings, “In Washington, D.C., State Department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos said the encounter "stemmed from a momentary misunderstanding as to the exact location of the U.S.-Mexican border." – Arizona Republic
This is an American Border Patrol video clip of the border between the gate and cattle guard and the beginning of the new fence.
There is no question as to where the border is in this area. There is a fence (if it hasn’t been knocked down) and there is a border road that is very obvious. The border in this area could not be misunderstood.
It is clear that the Mexican military deliberately crossed the border – a border that in many areas is easily crossed by vehicular and foot traffic (but deliberately).
