DHS hates what works -- loves what doesn't
Huckabee -- Fox News -- March 6
~~~///~~~
    Huckabee: There is a statement by the department that almost a thousand miles of our southern border is virtually out of federal control – I think something to that effect. Why can't we seal that border and control the border?
    Janet Napolitano, DHS Secretary: I've lived on that border almost my entire life. I grew up in New Mexico...
    So here's what we're doing on the border. First of all, we've put more manpower than ever before in our nation's history. We've put more technology. We've built more infrastructure... [...]
    Huckabee: Let's talk. A twenty-two hundred foot tunnel was found near San Diego. That's a huge breach of security.
    Napolitano: Well, yes, but it was found, that's the key point. There have been tunnels tried under that border for decades. That's why the idea that building a fence along the border is not practical. Why? Because you can tunnel under it or you can ladder over it. [...]
    Huckabee: Would you argue that it (the Predator) is effective?
    Napolitano: (Didn't answer the question)
Red DotAmerican Patrol Report Comment
    What nonsense. The tunnel problem is easily solved. Real fencing works every time. There is no evidence that the Predator UAV is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
