     Americans have proven over and over again that, if given the opportunity, they will vote to stop illegal immigration. The left has proven over and over again that it does not want to give the American people the opportunity to make such choices.
    In 1994 the people of California followed Governor Pete Wilson's lead and passed Proposition 187. Wilson was re-elected in a landslide. The left then killed Proposition 187 - and California.
    The battle moved to Arizona, as it struggled to survive. As it did, a champion emerged – Russell Pearce. A highly respected law enforcement officer and member of one of Arizona's founding families, Pearce took up the fight against illegal immigration.
    Despite vicious personal attacks, characteristic of the Saul Alinsky types, Pearce has stuck by his guns and the people have stuck by him. He is how leader of the Arizona State Senate and his SB 1070 is now finding support all across the nation.
    As Pearce has said: "There is nothing racist about upholding the law. We need representatives who are willing to speak clearly for legal immigration and speak clearly against illegal immigration."
