On January 16 Derechos Humanos will hold a demonstration against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Joe Arpaio is being sued in federal court. He is accused of racial profiling. On Dec. 18 he underwent a seven-hour deposition. Yesterday KPHO TV reported on the deposition.
They report that Arpaio said: "He has not instituted any training for deputies on racial profiling and does not believe any training is necessary."
Does this sound as if Arpaio's deputies get no training on racial profiling? You bet it does. Do his deputies get training on racial profiling? You bet they do -- they get it under 287 (g). Arpaio didn't institute this program – the federal government did. Arpaio doesn't believe training is necessary because they already get it. But that's not what KPHO wants you to believe.
And who helped start the legal action against Arpaio? ACORN. Watch this segment from the Lou Dobbs Show (another reason why he was fired.)
